OFF THE MENU

Marisol

Dining at the chic Chanterelle restaurant was an aesthetic affair; before a morsel of refined French food entered your mouth, diners were left to contemplate the inspired menu covers designed by the likes of Keith Haring and Cy Twombly.  During the TriBeCa fixture's thirty year tenure, owners Karen and David Waltuck commissioned contemporary artists, writers, musicians and photographers to design the cover of their menus. Over 65 extraordinary covers were created, and many are for sale at chanterellenyc/art.com. I visited the site yesterday and fell in love-each a mini masterpiece, and some for sale with prices from $250 to $3000.  Delicious.
