Staffordshire dogs, a popular decorative accessories in the 19th century, and still collectible today, have received a cheeky, modern face-lift. I love the kitschy cool that British artist Donna Wilson, working with a factory in Stoke-In-Trent, in Staffordshire, brings to these classic canines. Wilson hand paints a colorful, patterned Fair Isle style sweater on each figurine-the effect is whimsical and unexpected, the perfect update for an old dog.
