PARTY 101-CANDY BAR TAKE OUT

From the outrageous, over the top Oscar bags filled with diamond earrings and free trips, to the more modest goody bag with a delicious sweet treat for late night munching,  the gift bag is a popular and treasured party staple.  Yesterday we hosted a milestone birthday party luncheon for my father in law with twenty five family and friends.  Sentimental toasts aside, the highlight of the afternoon was the candy bar that I put together for the guests to take home.  Small black Chinese containers with chic paisley tags were left out near an assortment of large glass jars filled with candy.  Everyone had such a great time filling their boxes-a sweet and fun take home treat for a lovely birthday celebration.

The black Chinese take-out containers are from the Container Store.  I lined each box with a piece of silver tissue paper.

Beautiful metallic paper from Kate's Paperie was cut into squares and made into pretty labels.

Large glass jars from the Container Store were filled with jelly beans, chocolate covered raisins and other sweet favorites.

There is something about a candy bar both children and adults adore!
