HERMES ENVY
I just love the Birkin bag. Its classic luxury- hand-built by the French design house Hermes with exotic animal skins and jewel-like hardware, this highly coveted bag is the ultimate in timeless style and glamour. But at $6,500, my purchase of a delicious orange Birkin is on the back burner, indefinitely. I did spy a cute, cheeky canvas summer tote bag that might curb my Hermes envy...at least until the fall!

That is so cute! Who doesn't love a Birkin? But that tote is adorable. "Bringing Home the Birkin" is on my list for this summer. Have you read it?
That is adorable. Yes, the Birkin is truly a dream for many, including me! Glorious weekend to you ~
How smart and you probably can fit a whole lot more on a shopping spree in the tote!
You must get that tote! Hilariously chic!
Very cute. You're right - perfect for summer!
Barbara - I agree - but as of yet - still no large birkin in my closet....but I have a lovely linen hermes backpack that makes a great summer bag - I got in Paris over a decade ago and throw it in the washing machine from time to time....my daughter loves it too and it didn't cost the price of a mortgage in some countries....anyway, still holding out hope that someday I'll own the real deal, or maybe the Kelly babecause, or rather, the Kelly bag...best, tamara
so cute... i will run out and get one of these... i saw a bag at hermes recently it was $92,000.. i am so sorry that is just wrong.

It's settled then--I'm getting the tote for the summer and as for the Birkin, who knows-maybe Santa will be good to me this year! Thanks for all your lovely comments and have a fun weekend! Best, barbara
Re: source for the rug. Hi. Liz got back to me right away. She said "It is from a great small business in Philly where they hand block print fabric and also drum pendants. The rugs are woven to order and can be done in completely custom colors and sizes. Check them out online www.galbraithandpaul.com"
She mentioned it may be through the trade, which would work for you.
