It's one of my secret pleasures to scour the real estate listings and see whats new and just listed. I'm always looking for classic estates with wonderful architecture and interesting pedigree and was happily surprised to find the Beverly Hills home of uber designer Kelly Wearstler just listed for sale for $46M. The 11,300-square-foot estate is called Hillcrest Estate, and the Georgian/Hollywood Regency-style home was originally built for actor William Powell and his wife at the time, the actress Carole Lombard. Talk about pedigree! Wearstler hired architect Brian Tichenor to preserve much of the home's Art Moderne details, and the space was profiled in the October 2009 issue of Vogue magazine. The interiors are classic Wearstler: masterful use of color, black-lacquer and an assortment of overscaled sculpture, statuary and statement pieces. It's Wearstler maximalism at its finest, but is it for you?

Simply gorgeous - that pool reminds me of a Slim Aarons photograph! Wonder where Kelly is moving to?
I really like a lot of Kelly's designs, though I think her stuff can be a bit overdone.
Love your blog though!

Fabulous! Yes,please share which websites you love to scour best. That's one of my favorite things to do too!
So fun...it could easily be mine! But for the 40 something million that is! Great find! (and I too love Fish's Eddy!)
Classic Hollywood... Great set designers knew how to give ya high impact. Nice that it was updated to look "swell" without the wrecking ball and its replacement Mac-mansion. Just let me lounge at the pool, yes The Buzz, very "Villa Artemis" CZ Guests ocean front palm beach pool.
What a fun little hobby you have! Wonder where Kelly is headed to now?!
I love over top Kelly! If you have a chance to do it, who wouldn't!! It takes extreme to balance out the boring and we all benefit in the long run. Like in "The Devil Wears Prada", it all trickles down. Love that last sun room!!!! XO,
Kel
The EXTERIOR is amazing. Can you imagine sipping your morning coffee there?....sublime.
