MOVIE NIGHT

I've always loved movie night; whether its a PG flick with the kids or date night with my husband, its always fun to get a bite to eat and see the latest movie on a big screen.  But I haven't been to the movies in over a year. It's not that there isn't anything I want to see-its the sticky floors and seats, the day glow orange nachos crunching in the seat behind me and the little mouse that scurried across the floor, which was for me, was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back and ended my movie nights.  Until now....

The very chic Crosby Street Hotel has a theater room that until recently was only used for movie screenings.  But now on Sunday evenings, the hotel has opened the luxe 99 seat screening room for Sunday Night Film Club.  Call ahead and reserve dinner and movie for $50 per person or have a cocktail, bar plate and movie for 2 people for $25 per person.

Each week a different film is shown ranging from a recent release to a classic. Next Sunday's showing is An Education with Carey Mulligan, which I haven't seen yet.  I'm ready to return to the movies, this time with a apple martini and gourmet dinner!

I would have screamed if I saw a mouse at the movie theater. Yikes! So glad you found another option - looks amazing!

HH- I went to The Crosby today for afternoon tea. Well done, not only is the screening room well done, the entire boutique hotel is elegant and fresh. Thanks for finding it. I am sold and will stay here on my next trip to New York, is there something similar on the east end?

Oh my goodness! I must plan a date night with my husband to go there; we love the movies & it would be a great excuse to go into the city. Thanks for a great tip!
Best,
Colleen

PS I loved "An Education" - Carey Mulligan is terrific and the clothes are fab!
