Last weekends arctic chill led me and my daughter to the Museum of Natural History's Butterfly Conservatory for a dose of tropical splendor. The museum's annual installation houses over 500 butterflies from around the world in a recreated tropical forest. Did you say tropical? Their heated habitat became apparent the minute I entered the sealed double doors and a wave of 82 degree hit my face. The cashmere sweater that seemed to be such a good idea that morning was quickly discarded-thankfully I had a tank on underneath! The butterflies were gorgeous-fluttering about the lush fauna, feeding on bananas and oranges and posing for pictures. The conservatory reminded me of the much talked about butterfly wallpaper that enveloped a stylish apartment in Domino. The room was striking, bold and daring, and while I wanted to embrace the butterfly, it was all a bit too much for me. I would love to use Wallpaper Collective's chic Butterfly Jubilee in raspberry/earl gray or raspberry/honey. The bold butterfly graphic and elegant, sophisticated background would be stunning in a bedroom. And you won't have to take your sweater off-unless you want to!

Love the butterfly shot! We went to the Smithsonian butterfly exhibit in November. A perfect antidote to a cold winter's day!
A delightful moment of vicarious tropicalness, thank you! I'd love the wallpaper for a powder room or a dressing room!
Butterflies are the best! Your post reminds me of the time we took the boys and a huge blue morpho landed on my son (he as four at the time). The look of awe that came across his face was priceless! Hope you are well and that we'll see you at the NYGF later this month.

Oh, i love that exhibit! And butterflies in general. One of the most magical, beautiful little creatures ever created.
Fluttering toward bed!
