INSPIRED DESIGN
You never know when or where you will be inspired by design. I try to walk as much as possible around the city and find inspiration in store windows, townhouse facades and this time of the year window boxes filled with spring flowers. I found inspiration on my recent trip with the beautiful Mayan inspired architecture at the hotel. The design could have easily become kitshy but the hotel used restraint creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere. Dark teak beams and antique wood chairs graced the lounge area peppered with comfy white sofas. The beautiful use of stone and wood set against the blue sea was near perfect. What inspires you today?

Agreed...so much inspiration just by looking outside, right? I found inspiration looking at the old reclaimed floors we just got in from France..my mind ran away with me thinking about the chateau that they came from and the beautiful stone walls that the room must have had, and the goregous paneling...the parquet floors...your mind just wanders..so much inspiration all around us every day.
Your trip sounds wonderful! I's love to go snorkeling in that beautiful water! I agree, you never know where you'll find inspiration, in the city or in an outdoor setting.
Ha! Are you going to put that hyena someplace? So true about inspiration from our travels, though. I think it helps form our tastes...I just got back from Paris and am full of ideas.
Travel is indeed one of the best sources of inspiration. That being said, you never know - you could be inspired in your own backyard as I have been by the recent signs of spring!!
