CECIL BEATON POPS-UP AT 1ST DIB'S

A lovely interruption from the dazzling rows of furniture and accessories being primpted for today's What's New What's Next Event at the New York Design Center is the stunning Cecil Beaton Pop-up Preview on 1st Dib's 10th floor home.  "Cecil Beaton and the 1930's" gives sartorialist's a look at period couture from the museum's collection (gowns by the likes of Mainbocher, Chanel and Schiaparelli), and six of Beaton’s famous fashion photographs serve as backdrops along with a selection of chic 1930's furniture. It's a wonderful preview of what is sure to be a fantastic show.“Cecil Beaton: The New York Years,” will open next month at the Museum of the City of New York.

If you are in town you won't want to miss What's New, What's Next Event, an afternoon and evening of lecture's, book signings and new product launches from 3-9 today at the New York Design Center. I'll be at the new Hickory Chair studio this afternoon--can't wait to hear what Lonny Magazine editor in chief Michelle Adam's will say about the latest trends in design.

Have a great day-we'll talk soon!

Looks and sounds amazing! I am so out of the loop as I am knee deep in "house biz", the other day I went shopping for a gown for a fundraiser we have coming up and I was like a kid in a candy store, I haven't been shopping in MONTHS...it was such fun to feel alive and recharged around such beautiful things!! I skipped over an entire season...I walked in and was like "its all winter"? Beautiful...thanks for the heads up!
