TASTE-GRILLED PEACHES AND CREAM

The last of the summer peaches are ripe for the picking and so delicious right now. My favorite summer dessert- give them a quick turn on the grill for sweet and smoky treat. I like to top warm peaches with a little whipped cream and toasted almonds for an easy and elegant dessert. Who needs pie!

Grilled Peaches with Toasted Almonds and Whipped Cream
vegetable oil for brushing grill
8 peaches, halved and pitted
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup of cold heavy cream
1 teaspoon of almond extract
1/4 cup of slivered almonds

-Brush peaches with oil and place on the grill, cut-side down. Grill until golden brown, about 1 1/2 minutes. Turn the peaches over and grill another 45 seconds. Set aside.
-Add slivered almonds to saute pan on medium high and turn constantly until golden brown.
-Whip cream in a cold bowl with sugar and almond extract until stiff peaks form.
To assemble-Plate peaches and top with a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with slivered almonds. Delicious!

This is the 2nd time grilled peaches have been mentioned to me in 24hrs! My friend called me last night to say she grilled some peaches and topped them with mascarpone, vanilla, orange rind and honey. She said her husband licked the plate!
I've not tasted them but now I am for sure going to grill some up tonight, sounds divine :)

Oh delicious! I love grilled peaches on salad, but hadn't thought to serve them so simply with cream for dessert. There's a man who brings peaches over from the eastern side of the state and parks in our neighborhood selling them out of the back of his truck. They are heaven!!! Would love to grill some up and serve them just like this!

Oh, how delicious. Our peaches are so nice this year, I will be trying this soon. I may be tempted to spill a little congnac over the final product {or maybe whip some in with the cream}.

These look DELICIOUS! And I agree, you can't have peaches without Cool Whip. I've never grilled peaches before. I'll have to try this!

I appreciate your visit and sweet comment about my Ladurée-inspired invitations!
