ROAD TRIP

Baker Library at Dartmouth College
We took a much anticipated drive yesterday to visit our son who started his first year of college last month. I couldn't wait to see Carter and I wasn't sure how I was going to quell my excitement during the monotonous five hour drive up to Hanover, New Hampshire.  Lucky for me, autumn was in full bloom-a gorgeous display of reds and shades of gold lined the highway.  There is nothing better than New England in the fall I mused-or was there?  Here's a look at autumn around the world. Pretty fantastic where ever you land!
Amsterdam
Chateau de Chambord, France
Provence, France
Stockholm
Venice
London's Richmond Park
Swiss Alps
Paris
Moscow
and of course, New York's Central Park

How's the view from your window today?  Hope it's lovely!  Remember, today is the last day to enter the giveaway for Exotic Taste-Orientalist Interiors.  Winner will be announced tomorrow!

How beautiful. I bet it looked spectacular...was the fall foliage in full bloom yet? We were advised to go to the Hudson Valley and a little more north, in about 2 weeks, seems to be peaking a little late this year I guess because of all the rain and the way the ground is saturated. He is at Dartmouth? A wonderful school and such a beautiful area, my nephew is waiting to see if he got in, he fell in love with it!
Beautiful post....glad you had fun! And hope he is having a wonderful time in school.

We were out east last fall and I longed to spend the entire month. I wanted to bicycle through lanes and drink cider - so enchanting. We don't have that same fall feeling here in Phoenix but we are usually still thrilled because the cooler weather has finally arrived. Supposed to be in the 90s this week but I still have high hopes :)

Loved these photos!

What gorgeous fall foliage! It's been years since I've been to Hanover, but when I was last there, the trees were showing of their brightest colors. What a lucky one man your son is to study in such a wonderful spot!

Wow! what gorgeous images. And what a glorious place your son is studying at! I would so love to visit this part of the US during Autumn. His school looks like something out of a film; how exciting.
The cooler weather hasn't arrived yet here in Seville. I'm really getting bored of the heat now :-( Bring on the Autumn!

Kudos to your son for getting into Dartmouth! The neighbor across the street just started his freshman year there too. Did you see that many of the leaves had changed yet? My husband was in NH on Friday and said that it hadn't peaked yet. We were out East...not yet. I love looking at the gorgeous colors of the leaves. Miss you.

Gorgeous! Here on Long Island I am just seeing the merest beginning of fall leaves. But the light is gorgeous and the weather is warm, so I am happy! enjoy!

I'm sure your road trip was beautiful. Absolutely nothing more beautiful and a sure cure for a monotonous drive than fall foliage. Your photographs are glorious, and I enjoyed the drive and tour of nations along with you. Great blog!
