FIZZY GOOD

I've been out to dinner at the same restaurant, Felice, three times in the past week. That's unusual for me as I always like to try someplace new, but we had a few last minute get togethers and friends in from out of town and Felice seemed the perfect neighborhood hotspot. With its chic 1960's Dolce Vita vibe, extensive wine list and to die for pasta I would happily eat at Felice any day but it was the Venetian cocktail that I was introduced to here that has me hooked. It's called the "Spritz," a delicious drink made with Aperol, an Italian apertif with hints of bittersweet orange and floral herbs. It's a slightly sweeter cousin to the better known Campari and with it's low alcohol content and refreshing taste, you can enjoy one or two and not feel the effects the next day.  It's my new favorite go-to drink-enjoy!

The Spritz
3 oz. Prosecco
1 1/2 oz. Aperol
splash of seltzer
The perfect spritz is prepared on the rocks. Add ice, Aperol, Prosecco, a dash of seltzer.  Top it off with a slice of orange-delicious!
