VICTORIA HAGAN-A CASE FOR PALE BLUE

Soft, subtle, sophisticated: words that come to mind when I envision the perfect bedroom.  For me, the color of this restful cocoon always seems to be a shade in the soft blue category. I am such a fan of the many shades of blue, from the delicate violet-blue to the cultivated blue-grey, that I've used a variation of this palette in my master bedroom forever. I was flipping through the portfolio of one of my favorite designers, Victorian Hagan, this weekend and quickly realized that she also has a penchant for using soft shades of blues in her stunning bedroom designs. It's amazing  how beautiful and dreamy her bedrooms look...
A young girl's bedroom gets a boost from the delicate pairing of light blue and violet--isn't the bubble light fixture fun?
Muted shades of blue and grey bring a classic refinement to this bedroom
A pair of linen club chairs take center stage in this sophisticated bedroom
Layers of soft patterns and textures and that gorgeous bed!
Nature inspired beauty, so modern
Quiet serenity is achieved with muted blue walls and shades of beige
Strong blue and white scheme, very coastal chic
Whimsical blue print brightens a cottage
Classis blue and white never goes out of style
Periwinkle blue paired with a punch of green is fantastic
Soft striped cotton rug seems to be a favorite of Hagan

Are you a fan of the blue bedroom?

No, they're not really for me. I think they're pretty to look at but I've never felt comfortable in one. Just not visually comfy enough, I guess!

You know I wasn't for years. Thought I didn't like blue then all of a sudden, something shifted and I bought a blue bedspread! I love it.
I like her ceiling light fixture choices very much.
Just a reminder you won my chocolate giveaway - send me your details so I can get it in the mail to you :)

I do love pale blue - we went with a similar palette for our master bedroom. Mostly whites and creams, but touches of pale blue. It's peaceful and calming.
Hope you have a lovely week!

Victoria Hagan and Darryl Carter are two of my favorite designers. While I'm not a fan of blue the rooms are beautiful and soothing to see.

I love it! My daughter's bedroom is the softest hydrangea blue with with white trim and furniture. And mine is in the process of being painted in a soft light as the air blue with a gray undertone. Love blue!

Yes-- soft blue everywhere please! My entire house was actually painted a very calm blue from Behr called "serene" -- just perfect with our white accent furniture! You can see here: http://www.houzz.com/photos/users/the_river_cottage

Very nice! I have an office that's painted pale blue, and blue and white accent pieces, other than that - I'm a neutral girl with lots of grey and and beige. Always enjoy your posts!

Barbara,
The first image is swoon-worthy. I have a blue and white guest bedroom and would happily move hubby and I to that room if it wasn't for the fact that's much smaller than the master suite and the bathroom is down the hall. Such pretty rooms, I really like the blue and white with apple green throw as well.
