BEHIND THE PRIVET: SUMMER SHOWHOUSE SPLENDOUR

My home for Behind The Privet this week is a past Hampton Designer Showhouse (2007) that is currently listed for summer rental. I remember touring the Showhouse and was impressed with the home's traditional architecture and cohesive interiors. More often than not, showhouse interiors are a patchwork of individual designer dreams--gorgeous stand alone rooms displaying the latest design trends. While it's fun to see each designer's vision, I think it would be difficult to live in a showhouse with such diverse interiors. I like this Showhouse because the rooms do feel connected; a shared soft palette with a nod to nature, the rooms are relaxed and elegant. It's a Hampton's retreat perfect for a summer of entertaining and fun.

Gorgeous! You're right, the rooms are so cohesive, I'm not sure I would've known it was a show house.

Definitely not your average show house- way too staged look! Is that fish scale wall covering in that one room or something else? -It's stunning!

What a dream home. I love, love the exterior and the interior is so liveable for what appears to be a large home. The guest/pool house is great.
