GAME CHANGER

I've admired the preppy white game table and monogrammed chairs that have graced the Lee Jofa showroom for several months. In my frequent trips to the shop I would always pass by the set and think how much fun it would be to have a game table at home. I could reintroduce myself to bridge, I mused, a game my husband and I learned BK (before kids) with other young, fun, like minded people with lots of time on their hands! Perhaps a Thursday night game with lemon martini's--I could dust off my bridge books and memorize some of those conventions I never got around to learning. Two weeks ago when I visited the shop, they were disassembling the Lilly Pulitzer vignette to make room for something new and the game table had a big sold sticker on it. I instantly felt a pang of regret, although honestly, I don't have a single spot where a set of bright plaid chairs and a glossy white table would work. But it would be fun to have a game table. Perfect for a corner nook, a pretty game table in a soft, glossy lacquer paired with luxurious light blue leather chairs--now I would definitely be game for that!

Love, love game tables. Funny you should bring up bridge. I have been thinking the same thing. So much fun. Our lives have just gotten too busy.

So happy to have discovered your blog this morning. I love it! As for game table areas in the home, like creating writing spaces as I did a few months back. . .once in place, you tend to use them more.

I will be back! I have joined your blog! Great job. ox m.a.

These game tables are great. My grandparents loved to play cards, and their kitchen table was often the site of many hands of pinochle.

Isn't that 1st image just so fun and of course who wouldn't want to play games in that space!

My family likes to play scrabble, the teens, cards, and my Mother, puzzles.

Crazy but I have always dreamt of a 'game table' in my home too! I know I could get so many uses out of it - but I am a gamer. And the upholstery on those chairs are to DIE FOR! (and did you say it was a Lilly set? Seriously?) Thanks so much for sharing and enjoy the rest of your day. xoxo Jalon

We have a game table and it's one of my very favorite pieces! Buy one, you love it, plus it can also stand in for an intimate/extra dining table!!!

Was just wondering what to do with a little vacant spot in our great room - a game table might be just the thing! Thanks for the inspiration!

That game table was fun...perfect if I owned a beach cottage. I've seen some beautiful antique game tables but, like you, I don't have room for one more stick of furniture. I liked the room with the large oil painting in this grouping.

I’m assuming having a weblog like yours would cost a fairly penny?
I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% positive. Any recommendations or advice could be greatly appreciated.
