Today is the first day of Spring and I couldn't be happier. Although Gotham still feels wintry and frigid, I know that balmier weather is on its way and with it, a plethora of gorgeous tulips. By the end of this month the 60,000 tulip bulbs planted on the Park Avenue malls will be in bloom washing the avenue with bursts of yellow and red.
I love to pick up a few bright bunches of tulips at the corner bodega--their sunny hues are sure to brighten any room!
Because tulips balance on precariously thin stems, its necessary to use a a vase that will hold them up. Tulipieres, tall decorative vases with small holes, were invented just for this use and make it easy to create a beautiful arrangement in no time.
How are you celebrating the first day of Spring?

Nothing says spring like a bouquet of tulips! Spring seems to be arriving late everywhere. I can't wait to see gardens in bloom!

Spring tulips make me smile. I remember bring in college and watching them bloom around campus. So pretty!!
Beautiful blooms. We are having very chilly storms out here as well. I love the Tulipieres, but I must admit, I like to see them droop as well... happy spring.
The tulips are gorgeous .... we are now going into our autumn.... but we still have some blooms blossoming!

So far, it seems far away in NY, but your lovely tulips give me hope!

Instead of sending your scanned invitation, it would be great if you create your own wedding website and invite your
friends and relatives. Out of town guests will feel especially welcome
if you give them special attention at the reception.

Barbara,
Cut tulips have been plentiful at our markets but we don't see them growing anywhere around where I live. How fun to see them in the city.

Nothing better than spring....and all of the glorious color it brings....only it is cold here in ATL so I will have to be patient a while longer :)
