OVER THE RAINBOW

While a cold front has moved into the city and doesn't seem to want to leave anytime soon, I've been looking for any sign of spring. The resort collections to the rescue! Chic cashmere and leather accessories in electric blues, hot pinks and sunny yellows are ready to depart for warmer climates. They look as delicious and refreshing as a double scoop of rainbow sherbet-yum!

VROOM...

Buckle up-racing stripes are all the rage.  These bold graphic stripes are appearing on tables, trays and bags bringing a dose of zippy charm to everything it rides across. At the NYIGF, Lamshop showcased a gorgeous lacquered Ming table with a pithy race stripe and monogram.  I can see this preppy table working perfectly in a family room or library. They even have a smart HH racing logo in an Hermes inspired orange perfect for moi.

HERMES NATURE INSPIRED HOLIDAY WINDOW

A calm oasis in a storm of red bows and white lights, the Hermes Holiday window is a dreamy, woodsy wonderland. The nature-inspired vignettes are based on a new line of sepia-colored porcelain called "Les Maisons Enchantes" by Francois Houtin. The china depicts fanciful huts made from twisted vines and twigs-gorgeous and the perfect accoutrement for a country home.

The rustic woodland scenes were brought to life by New York furniture and landscape designer Charlie Baker. His masterful use of twigs and felled trees created a whimsical and sophisticated holiday tale. Like the firm's iconic brown ribbon, the windows are understated, stunning, chic-so Hermes!

Le Carré Hermès

 To any fashionista, the Hermès carré-or scarf, I should say—is an iconic symbol of luxury and style.  The House of Hermès has turned these wearable pieces of art into a stunning book which pays tribute to the famous  carré: “ Le Carré Hermès” published by Les Editions du Regard.

 
Written by fashion and art writer Nadine Coleno, ‘Le Carré Hermès‘ is a gorgeous coffee table book that documents the history and development of the Hermès carré since its inception in 1837. 

The book has 320 pages featuring over two hundred photos of the most popular Hermès carrés. A limited luxury edition of the book is being offered which features gilded gold pages and is bound in the silk scarf "Quadrige".

The book is a fabulous gift for lovers of the iconic scarf (and who isn't?!) With a release date of July 15th, the book can be pre-ordered now on Amazon.

IN THE DRAWER

French drawer liners from Gianna Rose

This past weekend was rainy and dreary, the perfect weather for tackling some spring cleaning.  I planned to work on just the dresser and closets in my room; catching those errant dust bunnies and spritzing a little Mrs. Meyer's lavender cleaning spray around the shelves.

I was anxious to finish because there was a reward of sorts waiting for me; sheets of beautifully patterned and deliciously scented drawer liners ready to be placed on my clean shelves and drawers.

 With a wealth of fragrances and papers to choose from, adding scented paper is an inexpensive and chic way to brighten your wardrobe.

Sometimes it's the little things that make us feel good.

I like to switch out scents in the fall and spring, usually changing fragrances with the season.  Last fall I used Hermes drawer liners, a small indulgent gift that left my clothes perfectly scented.

This spring I decided to try Verbena and Orange Blossom from the Soap and Paper Factory. The packaging and beautifully patterned paper are gorgeous and the delicate scents are perfect for a spring pick me up.

There's a fantastic Brooklyn based company called Hammocks & High Tea that uses rice paper and organic oils for their bold and modern graphic liners.  I can't wait to try these!

Update: I'm happy to report that my dresser is sweetly scented and looking chic.  What are your little indulgences?

HERMES ENVY

I just love the Birkin bag. Its classic luxury- hand-built by the French design house Hermes with exotic animal skins and jewel-like hardware, this highly coveted bag is the ultimate in timeless style and glamour. But at $6,500, my purchase of a delicious orange Birkin is on the back burner, indefinitely.  I did spy a cute, cheeky canvas summer tote bag that might curb my Hermes envy...at least until the fall!
