ULTMATE SUMMER SANDAL

Jack Roger's Navajo Sandal-All-American, chic and a summer classic. The Jack Roger's sandal was designed in the 1950's as a casual resort wear shoe. Hand-crafted with whimsical whip stitching, the Navajo sandal became an instant classic in 1961 when Jackie Onassis was photographed in Palm Beach wearing a pair of "Jacks."  The sandal became a classic resort wear accessory in Newport, Palm Beach and the Hamptons and has gained cult-like status as the essential summer shoe.

Personally, I'm addicted to these adorable little sandals.  They come in hundreds of color combinations, seem to go with everything in my summer wardrobe and are the most comfortable sandal ever!

Now under the creative design helm of my friend Steven Stolman, the iconic Navajo sandal design can be found in fabulous platforms, ballet flats and even sweet little evening purses.  Steven had his own shops in Southampton and Palm Beach that sold stunning little cocktail dresses and capri pants-summer chic "must haves" for Hampton summers! I miss his shop but am delighted to see that he is using his considerable design talents to create a beautiful line of resort apparel.

Steven also designed the stunning Firework sandal as a tribute to the Fireworks Benefit Gala that is held every July 4th weekend to benefit the Southampton Fresh Air Home Camp.  The SHFAH is a sleep away camp for kids with physical disabilities. There they get to experience all the fun of a summer camp experience; sailing, swimming, putting on plays, BBQ's and just acting like kids! Its a very special place and a charity I am proud to say I'm deeply involved with.  I plan to wear the heels out on my Fireworks sandals this summer!
I love these Marbella espidrilles-no high heels sticking in the grass this summer!

Hampton's roundelle pouch takes your from dinner to dancing!

They are such a classic! And they're fun too. Great combination. Eventhough his shop isn't there anymore, you can still get the sandals in Southampton on Jobs Lane at the shoe store. Oh, it's name escapes me. Years ago it used to be Boot Tree. But I'm dating myself! LOL!

I'm hosting a new meme called "Summer Sundays". It's all about what summer means to YOU, like a pair of fabulous sandals. Hope you'll come join the fun.
