MY WAY-STAY THE NIGHT IN SINATRA'S PALM SINGS HOME

Looking for a fun and fabulous place to stay in Palm Springs?  Look no further.  Frank Sinatra's storied mid-century home built in 1947 by E. Stewart Williams for Sinatra and his first wife, Nancy Barbato, can be rented for the night for the princely sum of $2,600 a night. I better start saving up.

The legendary residence was host to some of the valley’s most glamorous parties with Hollywood’s brightest stars of the day. Frank Sinatra often hoisted his Jack Daniels emblem flag on the flag pole once positioned between twin palms near his famous piano shaped swimming pool, which indicated an invite to his Movie Colony neighborhood cronies that revelry and cocktails were in order. The home was also witness to some of Sinatra’s most memorable bouts. One of the most outrageous was when Frank threw then-wife Ava Gardner’s possessions onto the driveway after she appeared at the house in an attempt to catch him with Lana Turner. Apparently you can still see the chip in the sink where Frank threw a bottle in a rage.

The stunning estate fell into disrepair after Sinatra's tenure. Amazingly, a buyer purchased the crumbling house in 1997, without realizing it was former home to The Chairman of the Board, paying just $138K. After discovering the provenance, he restored the home and turned a tidy profit. The house sold earlier this year for more than $3M. That's a super flip!

Wouldn't mind spending the weekend at this abode! What I would love even more is to have scooped it up at a good price!
Have a nice weekend, Barbara.

I have seen the house but I had no idea of the "flip" history. Fascinating. Thank you for sharing this interesting story.
