A LANE DIVIDED
Meadow Lane, a winding old Southampton lane with a quaint name that recalls its bucholic past, is today a contrast of old and new. Take a drive down Meadow's meandering road with its gorgeous ocean and bay views. (My advice: do this either on a bicycle or in a convertible- all the better to peek between the budding privet hedges and gilded gates). Stately mansions and pristine shingled beach homes perch above the Atlantic and on the bay side, smaller bungalows are being built up with second floors and wrap around porches pointing towards the sea. In between, pockets of undisturbed nature: grassy marsh fields, an abandoned barn and a small wooden walkway leading absolutely nowhere. What path to take? That's for you to decide.

All beautiful views. For me it would be the wooden walkway to nowhere! I would create my own adventure.
me too!
We really need to get together out East this summer! Perhaps a bike ride on Meadown Lane? Lovely post.
Meadow Lane is absolutely one of my favorite roads...just dreamy, in the most untouched way with all the fabulous homes, it has a very "Newport-ish" quality to it. A good friends parents owned a beautiful home there and we went for a family wedding there two years ago, and it was one of the most specatular parties we had ever been to...right on the beach with the house as the backdrop..it was like a fairytale, the whole street is like a fairytale and this post does beautiful justice to it!
Stunning photos that evoke great memories!
Thanks for the walk!
Have a wonderful weekend

I go any route that leads me there :) Plus I'm always looking for a random photo op! Very cool for those that go there often XO, Kelly
Would love to drag hubs out this way some time, I used to live on New England and it was all so beautiful, especially so around this part
