Steven Gambrel for Firefly Farms
One of the highlights of the summer season is the Hampton Classic, a week long equestian show and competition that brings competitors from around the world and crowds of spectators looking to see and be seen. Its fun to mill about the grounds during the week, watch the events and shop the beautiful boutiques, but the grand VIP tent is where all the action is. On Grand Prix Sunday, more than 250 tables were set to impress, each spectacularly decorated in a variety of styles: classic "Bits and Bridles" Equestrian, country garden vignettes and corporate themes dominated the tables which were judged by Hamptons Cottages and Gardens Editor in Chief Kendell Cronstom in the annual Table Decor Contest. I walked amongst the tables festooned with beautiful flowers, impressive centerpieces and great looking swag bags finding myself taken with so many of the table designs. Designer Steven Gambrel's understated and so chic tablescape for Firefly Farms was one of my favorites and took first place. Soft and sophisticated-- vintage leather chairs surrounded a long farm table in grey and cream linen with a handpainted chest laden with bowls of ripe cherries and white aubergines. So exquisite, I was ready to grab a chair and join their party!Other favorties included-

HH,
A long way since the austere beings of the classic when the table was a $1000 and a vase of Hampton wild flowers decorated the table. Really amazing and beautiful!
So much tablescape inspiration here. The blue is my favorite.
Happy Monday, Barbara.

Barbara,
What a great event. We used to have a table setting event at the design center, it was always so much fun to see the original and creative ideas. The airline table was fun.
