STUDIO 54- KEEP ON DANCING!

Diana Ross, Steve Rubell, and fashion designer Halston.

'Studio 54 made Halloween in Hollywood look like a PTA meeting' …Lorna Luft

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to boogie on down memory lane. This Saturday Palm Beach Modern Auctions will auction off Studio 54 club co-founder and New York night life impresario Steve Rubell's personal collection of art and memorabilia from the clubs heydays in the 1970s. The eclectic group of items, which has remained for the past 28 years at the apartment Rubell shared with fashion designer Bill Hamilton, consists of Studio 54 memorabilia and includes works by Andy Warhol, Peter Beard and Michael Vollbracht, as well as hundreds of paparazzi photographs of party going celebrities like Diana Ross, Frank Sinatra, Truman Capote and Liza Minnelli. The collection provides a rare and dazzling look into the fabulous stylemakers and decadent partying that was Studio 54.

Being there advent of paparazzi, although decadent it seemed simple.

No tweets, facebook just a velvet rope and an merchants ledger.

Thanks

I was at the auction last Saturday and it was standing room only. Most of the photos went for three times the estimate, but it was a very long process.

I was also at Studio 54 in its heyday and this was a great glimpse back. Sorry I didn't save all my trash in boxes from those days.

I am going to do a follow up post on the prices things went for...www.empressoftheeye.blogspot.com

Even "Roller Rina" was there in her skates and disco wig! Fun rainy afternoon...

Having read this I believed it was rather informative.
I appreciate you taking the time and energy to put this short
article together. I once again find myself spending way too much time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worth it!

I have been surfing on-line more than three hours as of late, but I never discovered any interesting article
like yours. It is pretty value enough for me.
In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content material as you did, the web might be much more helpful than ever before.
