MYKONOS CHIC-PANORMOUS VILLAS

Hi there, its me! I've never been away from posting on my blog for so long, sorry for the silence but its been a crazy few weeks.  Between the Showhouse, a few new projects, three kids home for the end of summer, packing my daughter up for college in Scotland and planning a holiday trip--I'm exhausted!
What's a girl to do? Take a trip across the pond and relax and recharge on one of the chic islands of Greece.
Our destination--the enchanting island of Mykonos. It's been five years since we last visited the island; I fondly recall relaxing days at the beach, gorgeous turquoise water and casual, very late night dinners with great food and even better music.
We stayed at the chic Cavo Tagoo in town on our last visit but we decided to go the luxury villa route this year so we would have more room, our own pool and the added flexibility of a kitchen. After lots of time spent on the Internet and a check on House Of Turquoise's post on Mykonos, we booked a two bedroom villa for a week at stylish Panormous Villas.

Proprietor Elleni Makris, a very chic American ex-pat, and her husband ZeZe own Panormous Villas, a cluster of 30 stylish white homes nestled in the island's jagged rocks which overlook the ocean and a gorgeous beach. A drive through the resorts private gate and a few hairpin turns (you somehow get used to them!) takes you up to the villas which dot the arid landscape with their trademark curved walls and smooth stucco finish.

The Villa's smooth white exteriors accented with Mediterranean blue are quintessential Greek chic.

Our Villa features outside dining and lounging areas with matchstick roofs and soft cushions for afternoon naps, a beautiful pool and bar area, and of course, a million dollar ocean view!
The interiors are a pleasing mix of traditional and modern decorative elements. Cool white interiors are accented with Mykonian blue accents--it's quintessential Greek chic!

Elleni was charming and professional-helping us with our transfers, car rental and the inside scoop on the best beaches and restaurants. Lucky for us, one of the best beaches was directly across the street!
I love Panormous Beach--a small, sparkly crescent with soft sand, calm water and big pillows and cushions to lounge in the sun!

Two chic beachside restaurants serve typical Greek specialties, fresh caught fish, local beer, even champagne in a relaxed, boho setting.

If you do feel the need to hit another beach there are dozens-from the truly rustic to hedonistic--there really is something for everyone on Mykonos.

I hope you all had a fantastic end of summer and I'm looking forward to catching up with you too!

Barbara this makes me want to call my Greek friend and say lets get away! I have not been to Mykonos, Santorini yes and many of the other islands! Mary has a home near Ancient Corinth!

Barbara, sometimes we just need to "escape" somewhere beautiful. Mykonos would do the trick nicely!

Hope your daughter has an amazing experience at St Andrews....can't wait to hear all about it!!

Such a pretty place. We were in Greece a few years ago and I told my husband the other day when he asked where I would revisit that Greece was at the top of my list. Loved it.
