WISTERIA INSPIRED

Simply stunning, this waterfall of blooming wisteria graces the front of a brownstone is my neighborhood.  The luscious blooms are now in their prime; delicate and beautiful, their violet shade and sweet fragrance compels me to stop and pause-the rites of spring are simply spectacular.

A few inspirational prints from Schumacher, new and just in time for spring.

"The Jugglers", a Schumacher's classic chinoiserie motif was the muse for the new Shanghai Silhouette print.  The whimsical pattern is an artful pairing of traditional Chinese designs featuring fanciful figures and foliage on a clean background.  The print feels chic and modern in a delicate wisteria hue, the perfect print for a sophisticated living room or bedroom.

Summer Palace Fret, named after the storied eighteenth century Chinese palace, is a classic fretwork pattern combining traditional architectural elements and geometric design.  The subtle silver violet color softens the fabric's strong lines;  the pattern translates beautifully to both traditional and modern decors.

This is my neighborhood too! I love when that wisteria starts blooming, reminds me of a secret garden in the city.

That wisteria is amazing - I know I've seen it in person. I remember thinking that it was gorgeous and then thinking that I would not be so brave as to cover all the windows with it.

I planted two white wisteria over my pergola a few months back. It's autumn here now so I will have to wait a while to see them bloom..but they are such wonderful things aren't they?

The wisteria is stunning and so is the Schumacher wallpaper. I love Schumacher and the colour is very reflective of the wisteria. Perfect! I also love the image of your recent work!

Are you on the UWS? I remember a building that looked like such and every season I would just be in awe over the wisteria.

I love all things grisaille... the visual flow from the wisteria to the fabric was delightful. What a thoroughly charming blog... can't wait to track back and see more. Is that the 10th St wisteria? My favorite is Sleepy Hollow in Tarrytown... the whole house is lavender this time of year!.

Thank you all for your lovely comments-the extraordinary wisteria can be seen on 72nd Street between Second and Third Avenues (NYC). It's raining cats and dogs here--I hope the pretty blooms make it through this weather! Keep dry and have a lovely weekend-Barbara
