BEHIND THE PRIVET: GLASS HOUSE

I was immediately drawn to this stunning modern home with its strong vertical and horizontal lines and gorgeous ocean views. Designed by the award-winning firm of Steven Harris Architects, the oceanfront Montauk home is nestled among native shadbush providing privacy and a striking contrast to the home's white contemporary exterior.
Floor to ceiling  picture glass walls comprise the main living area and offer incredible views of the ocean. Each of the glass walls open fully, dissolving boundaries between the interior and exterior.
The back of the house features a gunite pool and spa that runs the length of the house. The second floor is home to the master bedroom suite with incredible views of the ocean-naturally!
Light and airy decor in the master bedroom doesn't compete with the stunning views

The four bedroom home features a guest wing with three bedrooms.
Landscaped courtyard is filled with plantings and shrubs indigenous to the area.
Strong vertical and horizontal lines-look at the view!
Most of the sleek kitchen is kept behind a series of dark wood doors-a crisp contrast to the super white island.

The floating staircase is striking!

Are you ready to pack your bags and move in? Me too!

I fell in love with modern about 10 years ago and it's still my favorite. This is one amazing home. The added bonus of the seclusion and the beach make it a dream home for sure. It's amazing.

I am usually more traditional too but I feel in love with the home--too bad I don't have 10 million lying around!!!

Yes I'm ready! As modern as it is, I think the warm wood tones give it a comfortable feel. The entire house is like an interactive sculpture. Love the master bath and the staircase and of course the view!

What a cool house, love how open it is, as though the indoors blends seamlessly with the outdoors as one, and with those views and vistas..how can you go wrong? Beautiful!

Wow! These glass walls are so chic! I like how they are capable of making cramped spaces look bigger and brighter. Plus, they add that extra modern feel.
