CLOSET CONFIDENTIAL GUEST POST: INSPIRED DESIGN

I'm thrilled to have Debby from Inspired Design guest post today on our Closet Confidential series. Inspired Design is one of my favorite daily reads-Debby brings her passion for interior design and an infectious joie de vivre to her posts that is simply captivating. I know that Debby's closet is going to be stylish and full of charm, just like her!

What are the 5 essential clothing items in your closet?_________

1.  My Kate Spade handbag
2.  My Tiffany key necklace
3.  J. Crew pea coat
4.  Brown leather riding boots
5.  Dark wash jeans

The one thing in my closet that I should get rid of but just can part with___________

I have a nubby old sweatshirt that I can't part with. I lounge around the house in it and it's just too comfy to throw out.

Describe your perfect outfit__________________________

First and foremost it has to be comfortable.  My go-to daytime outfit is a pair of dark wash jeans, a cute blazer or jacket, pretty scarf, and ballet flats.

For a casual dinner out this same outfit can be dressed up by swapping the ballet flats for a great pair of heels and trading the scarf for a chunky necklace.

There’s always room in my closet for_____________

I have a soft spot for cute jackets, scarves, and flats.

My dream closet would include_____________

I have wanted to wallpaper my closet forever!  It would have a beautiful leaning wall mirror and a fancy chandelier!
I’ve kept_______________hoping (it would fit, it would come back in style, sentimental)

I've kept jeans that are too small that in the hopes that someday I'll be able to squeeze comfortably back into them.

I never have enough_____________________

Shoes or handbags.

Designer closet envy would be_____________________

Spacious with built ins and an ottoman would be a dream!

Neat or messy?________________________

Neat (at the moment)!

My latest addition to my closet is________________________

The last item I bought was a classic black lace pencil skirt and tailored crisp white blouse from Talbots.

The last thing I got rid of was__________________________

I just had to throw out a sweater whose best days had gone by.

Extra shelves or extra hangers?_________________________

I would like extra shelves but unfortunately don't have any so I will have to settle for hangers.
You would be surprised I have/don’t have______________________

One thing I can't believe I don't have is a classic trench coat.  I hope to fix that this spring.

I have an extensive collection of_________________________

Preppy blouses mostly from J Crew and Anthropologie. Plaid, gingham, plain white... you name it!

Your organizational motto is_________________________

When it gets messy enough it's time to clean out the closet.  I have actually gotten really great about donating things I don't wear.

What do you like about your closet?______________________

I love that it's a walk-in and I don't have to share it.

What would you change?_____________________

I would like some built in organization. Shelves, sweater drawers, and shoe racks.

Best closet tip for organization_______________________

If you haven't worn an item for 6 months then you are more than likely not going to.  Donate it.

Right now your closet is in a state of ______________

It's neat at the moment but I am in desperate need of some new duds!

I love Debby too....and this was a load of fun. I share a lot of Debbys views when it comes to closets and what is needed to have a well functioning one.
Like her I have tons of J Crew button downs in many shades of gingham and too many sweaters from them to count. Love the line......great job to both of you!

I've just popped over from Inpired Design - great post! I definitely agree about donating clothes not worn for a while - immediately creates some order (and space for new ones!!)although I do hang on to a few very special items!

Isn't it amazing how a new outfit just sends us to the moon. And wearing it for the 1st time. Definitely do not hang on to old styles (I have & I regret), they just clutter up the closet, well except for a beautiful ball gown, maybe. Take them to a resale shop. But, I know I would spend the $$ to make my closet organized just for me. xx's

Debby's black lace pencil skirt and white blouse would look cute with Dolce and Gabbana's "Miley" lace ballet flats. However, at $475 it's probably better to wait till someone cleans their closet and sells them on eBay next year :)

In case you also want to be in fashion, new additions to 2010 UGG lineup are here to stay.. Indeed wearing a pair of toddler cowboy boots can give their feet just that. Online diamond retailers don't have retail shops, sales staff, large diamond inventories and other associated operating expenses and are therefore able to pass on the cost savings to consumers..
These boots are just what you need for an image makeover. Cheap Uggs may get similar http://sushiboy.net/profiles/blogs/ugg-284 branding and stitches much like the authentic ones given that they used customary markings to the boots.
Now that the momentum spell is broken, he's not fond of it. There are something about how do you spot fake ugg. This year a look of a pair of UGG classic mini boots with a http://nekkyo.jp/blog/uggmini13/?entry_id=92008&site_id=#trackback kick pleated skirt is all the rage. In order to understand what's causing uggjpup2013 the conflict, we need to take a look back at the history of these popular boots..

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.

The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Firefox.
I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know.
The style and design look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon.
