BLOGFEST 2012-LAST DAY FIRST

Brunschwig & Fils Classic Archive Designs
I'm the kind of girl that would eat dessert before my dinner and that's what I'm going to do today. Share with you my favorite part of Blogfest 2012, which is difficult because the event was an incredible, fast-paced three days, filled with beautiful rooms, star speakers and fantastic bloggers in some of the most charming venues in the city. I heard the Kravet Studio tour was an amazing from people who has attended last year and I was excited to experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the Brunschwig, Lee Jofa and Kravet design and development studios. It was fascinating to visit each line's beautiful atelier, and see firsthand the process of designing and developing prints that are soon to be in the showrooms. All the creative teams were so gracious, answering our questions about the design process and sharing with us secret projects that will be out soon but can't be mentioned yet. Thank you Kravet for allowing us a sneak peek inside your design studios-what a magical and inspiring environment!
This flame stitched rug is gorgeous. The process of design, development and finally to the showroom takes about 18 months.
A soon to be released pattern that I can't wait to use!
New Kravet prints for Anthropologie.  Kravet designs the prints that are used to upholster chairs and sofas for Anthropologie.
One of the design teams at Kravet. The atelier is bright and beautiful, the perfect environment to create.
The new Kelly Wearstler line for Lee Jofa hangs on the walls. A more muted palette for designer, don't you think?
Lee Jofa still uses wood blocks to hand dye some of their fabrics.  The depth of color and detail is unbelievable.
One of the hand carved wood blocks still in use.
A Lee Jofa inspiration book
Kravet pin-up boards for merchandising showrooms. Rooms are constantly being edited and  changed based on the new lines being introduced.

Wow...how fun! For a fabric lover like myself, that would have been so exciting! The wood blocks were so interesting....how great that they still use them...so unique.
