There was some confusion among art aficionados this past Thursday when the opening of the Henry Street Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory coincided with The Armory Show being shown at Piers 92 and 94.   With both prestigious shows opening the same evening, a wealth of impressive art was waiting to be admired and bought. I was thrilled to attend the Art Show Gala, which is organized in conjunction with the Art Dealers Association of America. With champagne flowing, the lively and upbeat crowd admired the impressive scope of blue chip art from the 70 exhibitors. I was taken with so many extraordinary pieces, wouldn't it be lovely to take one home!

Philip Van Ever's Still life with Chinese pheasant (1996) was a show favorite for me.
