GAME DAY

Its Super Bowl time! Are you ready for hours of football, a halftime show starring Madonna strutting to Cirque du Soleil and cheeky ads like Matthew Broderick's reprisal of Ferris Bueller?  Stop rolling your eyes and take solace in a delicious half time menu thats sure to satisfy your sports fans. Start off with a good for you Red Pepper and Feta Dip served with The Cure, a refreshing beer cocktail with a ginger kick. Certainly no Super Bowl menu would be complete without the ubiquitous platter of chicken wings. I changed my original menu to include an amazing Thai inspired dish of Spicy Lacquered Chicken Wings, a nice change from the Buffalo and blue cheese variety. A dish of Antipasto Salad is a great vegetarian option and slow cooked pulled Pork Sliders with coleslaw round out the menu. Its certainly no day for dieting so go for broke and grab a Butterscotch Blondie Bar topped with peanuts, pretzels and caramel-touchdown! You know I'll be rooting for New York on Sunday, how about you?

It all looks soooo good!! We always go to a friends house for Superbowl but this year my husband invited them (just another family so we are a small group thankfully) but having been so busy packing, haven't had a minute to think about what to prepare...thanks for some great ideas. I am going to try that pepper and feta dip and The Cure (love the name) sounds wonderful!

I have no feelings about who wins but I do love to watch the commercials and am actually looking forward to the half time show this year.
I want to come to your house for your delicious looking treats. Those blondie bars look dangerously good.

Ummm...so this is my DREAM super bowl party menu. Eventually I will get my husband's palette up to snuff so that he would be on board. Those blondies are calling my name!

We can always look to you to make 'bar food' amazing! What time should we be there? I am hungry already! (the commercials are always the best part of the game anyway, right?)
Enjoy the weekend

Yum! I'll make the feta dip for sure and I might also have to make the blondie-bars. Do you think Lady Gaga will be watching Madonna? ;)

Go Giants!

Barbara, I must apologize - On Friday I posted a link that was supposed to allow my readers to go to your blog for Super Bowl party ideas. Unfortunately, I posted the wrong link - so embarrassing! I am still new to blogging, links, etc.. and I am making so many mistakes despite my efforts. I hope you will forgive me for making this error.
