Southampton Fresh Air Home-Fireworks Picnic

A charity near and dear to my heart is the Southampton Fresh Air Home, a residential camp for children with physical disabilities.  For over one hundred years, the camp has provided a real summer camp experience--with state of the art cabins, swimming, sailing, basketball and crafts galore.  Its a wonderful place and best of all you can come meet some of the great kids when they host an open house in August.
Last night, the SFAH held its annual Summer Picnic with Grucci Fireworks.  It was a beautiful night for a party--lots of friends and their families gathered to enjoyed a lavish buffet of grilled chicken, fresh corn on the cob, homemade mac and cheese and mojitos with lots of mint--it doesn't get any better than that!  Kids and adults alike ran to get their glow necklaces before the Grucci fireworks started. My favorite--the amazing smiley face fireworks that accompanied the song "Put on a happy face". The campers from the Home were treated to their own holiday party two doors down with carnival games, music and lots of good food.
It was a great evening and the perfect start to the 4th of July!
